Our school's Christmas concert is coming up this week!  The concert will be held at the Caboto Centre.  Please bring your child to the side "holding" room for 6:00.  The doors will not be open before that time.  The concert begins at 6:30 pm.

Please remember 1 - to dress your child in Christmas "fancy" clothes
2 - to bring a pair of shoes to change into
3 - to bring their violin
The parent's group is asking for baking donations to serve after the concert.  If you are able to help out, please bring your treats to school and they will be transported to the Caboto Centre.  Thank you.

CHRISTMAS CLASS PARTY
We will be having our classroom Christmas party on the last day of classes - Friday, December 21 in the afternoon.  Here are the snack parents for this party day -
Judah, Lachlan, Madeline, Mahfuz
If this day does not work for you, please let me know and we can probably trade days with another family.😃

BABY MACK
We had a little visitor last week - Baby Mack.  Our class talked about all the things that they could do (as big grade one kids) and what they thought Mack could do at his age.  We got to watch him eat, roll over, look at all of us watching him and ask lots of interesting questions. Thank you Shae and Jackie for sharing your baby with our class.

REPORT CARDS
Your child should have brought home their report cards last Friday.  Please keep the actual report card, then sign and return the empty envelope to school.  We will re-use them next term and save a few trees!  Your child will be sharing some of their work from this first term with you during the conference.  We are encouraging the students to take more ownership of their own leaning and giving them a chance to share and tell you what we have been working on in class.  They are very excited to show you their portfolios.  If, after the conferences, you still wanted to speak to me privately, we can certainly set up another day and time to meet and talk.  Looking forward to seeing all of you soon!

SENSES
We have finished up our science unit about the senses and are starting our next unit which is all about the SEASONS.  We had a young lady from the University of Manitoba's WISE program come out last week to give us a presentation about the senses and do some fun activities with us.  WISE is "Women in Science and Engineering".  They are working to encourage kids (especially girls) to get interested in science and engineering.
