CONFERENCES
Thank you all for coming out to our student-led conferences last week.  The children were very proud and excited to show their portfolios to you and share what they have learned this term.

LEPRECHAUN TRAPS
The whole class was buzzing with creative excitement on Friday afternoon as the children built their leprechaun traps.  We used gold coins to (hopefully) entice those sneaky leprechauns into visiting our classroom and everyone shared how their traps would work.  We'll check our traps on Monday to see if we actually caught some.
They can wear something green on Monday for a belated St. Patrick's Day (if they wish).

COUNTRY WEEK
This week we are "travelling" to China for country week.  Every afternoon, the children will be travelling to another classroom to experience different activities with different teachers, such as -
Animals, Math, Culture, Art, Sports, Food and Folktales.  We are also having some Chinese dancers visiting the school on Wednesday morning where they will perform and teach us some dances.

LEPRECHAUN TRAPS
We will be needing your re-cycling stuff this week.  We will be making leprechaun traps on Thursday, March 14.  You can send in your re-cycling items anytime this week.
(Please do not send in glass or sharp edged tin cans.)

PENGUIN PROJECTS
We have just about finished up our penguin unit for science.  The children have been sharing their research information with the whole class.  We are learning a little bit about 14 different kinds of penguins.  We also painted our life-sized penguin portraits last week and they should be up in the hallway soon.  They are displayed like a graph - from smallest (Little Blue) to tallest (Emperor).
