EASTER READING
I hope all of you had a wonderful Spring Break and Easter holiday.
I sent home a yellow "egg" reading log sheet for the children to use over the break plus this week.  The goal was for them to read for 10 nights and to colour in one egg for each night they read.  Please return this sheet on Friday (if possible) and they can choose a prize for a completed sheet.  If they were away or have not quite finished the 10 eggs, they can keep it for a while and bring it in when it is finished and coloured. 😊

COUNTRY WEEK
Our annual "Country Week" is coming up soon.  It will be happening from March 19 to 23.  This year we will be looking at the country of India.  If anyone has any knowledge, books, costumes, artefacts, or skills (like dancing???) and would be willing to share them with us, please let us know.  During country week the students travel from class to class, each afternoon, with their own "passports" and experience a number of different activities.  Like - food, art, games, music, dance, culture, etc...
It will be an exciting adventure! (and then the following week is Spring Break, rest time).

STORY TIME
I have been reading a book called "Owls in the Family" to the class over the last few weeks.  This classic Canadian novel was written by Farley Mowat and it takes place in Saskatoon.  It tells about a boy who has two great-horned owls as pets.

Thank you to our Valentine's Day snack parents.  The treats were delicious!

I LOVE TO READ MONTH
Last week we had a special guest reader come to our school.  His name was Miles Thomas and he plays for the Winnipeg Blue Bomber football team. The students were VERY well behaved and enjoyed the book he read to them.  Afterwards, they were able to ask questions and get autographs.  Thank you Miles Thomas!
