HAPPY
THANKSGIVING!
I hope your Thanksgiving was relaxing,
delicious and filled with blessings.
SOCIAL
STUDIES
We
are starting our new social studies unit called “I Belong”. We will be looking at the different groups to
which each of us belong. Then we will be
looking at our community.
I would like each student to bring in one baby photo of themselves and
one photo of their family. I am going to make a photocopy of these pictures
to use in class and I promise that your copy will be returned safely and in one
piece. We will be using these photos for
a class project. Please send them in
this week, as soon as possible.
READING
As
well as building stamina when reading by ourselves, we have been working on
reading TO someone. We have been using this
poem – EEKK – “Elbow to elbow, Knee
to knee. I read to you and you read to
me,” to remember how to sit beside a partner when reading. We have also been reading with the grade 7
and 8 students on Wednesdays during Buddy Reading. The ones and twos are thrilled to be reading
to the “big kids” and have the big kids read to them during this time.
SWEATERS for CLWR
A few weeks ago I asked for sweaters that were
no longer needed to send overseas with Canadian Lutheran World Relief. They are still accepting used sweaters and
hoodies if anyone still has some that they are willing to donate. Just bring them to our classroom. Thanks.
