SCHEDULE FOR THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL
I can't believe that this is the last week of school.  I have enjoyed having your children in my class and I will miss them very much.  They have all grown and learned so much this year.

We have a busy week schedule planned for next week -

              - Reading Club wind-up party - pizza lunch
Tuesday -
Wednesday - PIZZA HOT LUNCH
Thursday - Grade 8 graduation in the afternoon (1:00 pm)

Awards Ceremony - 10:00 am in the gym
              Sports Day - 1:00 pm

CLASS PARTY
Our "last day of school party" is on Friday.  I did not assign any families to bring snacks because some children will not be there on the last day.  So - it is open to whomever would like to bring treats on that last day - Thanks.

CLASSROOM BOOKS
I would like all of my classroom books to be returned to school this week.  All of my books should have a white sticker with my name on them and a coloured dot sticker with the book level on the front cover.

GOOD-BYE MAYA
We are very sad to say good-bye to Maya at the end of this week.  She and her family are moving to Alberta.  We will miss her and pray for a safe trip.  We know that she will do well at her new school and make lots of new friends.

FIELD TRIP TO OAK HAMMOCK
We had a great field trip to Oak Hammock Marsh last week.  Thank you to all of the parents (and grandparents) who came with us.  Thanks to the parents who shared photos with us too.  Here are some of the photos.

What's New in One and Two? June 2 - 6, 2014

READ-A-THON
Thank you so much for supporting our Read-a-thon and Book Fair last week.  We raised quite a lot of money for our school's literacy programs and earned books for our classroom.  Olivia, in our class, raised the most money for the Grades K to 3 group and won the grand prize - tickets to the Zoo and Tinkertown.  Congratulations!
Here are a few photos of our Read-a-thon.

CLASSROOM VISITORS
Our caterpillar visitors arrived last week.  We have been watching them grow and keeping a journal of the changes that we see.  We learned that butterfly poop is called "frass".  They have already shed their skin a few times and grown much bigger.  They are Painted Lady caterpillars.

We also talked about how butterfly wings are symmetrical and painted pictures.  They are hanging up on the hallway bulletin board.
