What's New in One and Two? May 18 - 22, 2015

TADPOLES
Our tadpoles are getting bigger each day.  They are eating frozen romaine lettuce (a substitute for algae).  Hopefully we will get some changes before the end of school.  How long it takes depends upon what kind of tadpoles we have, so it is a mystery right now.

FLAT-STANLEY
We had one Flat-Stanley return last week from Ontario.  Hopefully they will start returning soon and we can share their adventures from all across Canada.  I posted photos of the Stanley's being mailed off to their visiting families except I missed one, so here he is -

MATH
The grade twos have been learning how to add and subtract double digit numbers, with regrouping.  (We used to call it borrowing and carrying when we went to school).  They seem to have caught on to the concept fairly well but could all use some extra practice at home.  We are continuing our measurement unit in grade one math.  Here are some photos of the class finding the area of different objects in our classroom.

MOTHER'S DAY PAINTNGS
I wanted to share photos of all the beautiful flower paintings that the children made for Mother's Day.
(Once again, I don't know why they turn out sideways? - sorry)
