Learning's Fun ~ In Grade One! March 17, 2020

I thought that I would post a few more photos to share with you.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Today we made shamrocks to use when we practice skip counting by 3's.  We also used them to talk about how God is three parts in one God - Father, Son and Spirit, just like the shamrock is one leaf but has three parts.

OWL VISITORS
The owls came to visit yesterday.  Their names were Ash (a great grey owl) and Max (a great horned owl).  The presenters were so impressed by how much the students knew about owls!  They also shared some stories about how some other animals came to be at Wildlife Haven.

GINGERBREAD MAN BOAT TESTING - We tested out our boats that we designed and built last week.  The students had to make a boat for the Gingerbread Man to float across the river so that he would not have to ride on the fox's back.  The boats had to hold the Gingerbread Man (or 10 pennies) for 10 seconds without sinking.
